In A Court Filing, The CFTC Again Designates Ether As A Commodity
In a recent court filing, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) declared Ether once again, a commodity. This is in contradiction to remarks made by the agency's head Rostin Behnam on Nov 30 that Bitcoin was the only crypto that should be regarded as a commodity. The regulator repeatedly referred to Ether, Bitcoin, and Tether in its action against Sam Bankman-Fried, FTX, and Alameda Research as "commodities" under US law.
