Sberbank Breaks Barriers, Becomes the First Major Russian Bank to Offer Crypto Trading
Russia's largest bank, Sberbank, is preparing to offer cryptocurrency trading services to its customers starting in June. Originally planned for April, the launch of the service was delayed but is now scheduled for this month. Sberbank customers will be able to buy and sell cryptocurrencies, including digital finance assets (DFA) backed by a combination of assets and securities. The bank expects to issue digital assets worth billions of rubles in the near future and hopes the new feature will attract more liquidity from investors interested in the digital asset sector.
