Cboe Resubmits 5 Bitcoin ETFs, Incorporating Coinbase Surveillance Deals
Exchange operator Cboe Global Markets has made changes to five Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) applications to include an agreement with Coinbase. The agreement, called a surveillance-sharing agreement (SSA), is meant to meet regulatory standards set by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to prevent fraud and protect investors. The initial filings for the ETFs mentioned the expectation of entering into an SSA. Other companies like Fidelity, Invesco, WisdomTree, Valkyrie, and BlackRock have also filed ETF applications with the SEC. The news of Cboe's amendments caused Coinbase shares to rise by almost 10%.
